Order by e-mail (info@mieldelagarde.com) or telephone (579-888-3728) only.Fertilized queen of the year.Our main selection criterion is resistance to varroa destructor.Here are our other selection criteria: Frugality (low consumption of wintering resources); Hardiness and ability to overwinter in small bunches; Hygienic behaviour; Propolis production; Honey production; Docility. We favour genetic diversity. Our initial genetic background comes from several Quebec beekeepers (John Forest, Yves Castera, Léo Buteau, Anicet Desrochers, Marie-Ève Cyr, Félix Lapierre, Robert Gaudreau, Michel Lauzon and Maggie Lamothe Boudreau) and from more distant strains such as Saskatraz and Primorsky from Bâton-Rouge.In 2022, we integrated CRSAD queens into our flock.Breeds present in the flock: Apis mellifera mellifera, Apis mellifera ligustica and Apis mellifera carnica.All our colonies overwinter outdoors, individually, without grouping.
